Microsoft indicates that Windows 10 is now officially “Windows as-a-service”. Windows 10 is the last Windows version, no new versions will be made.
Previously, new Service Packs were continually released for Windows. This is now being replaced by releasing newer builds for the same Windows version.
New builds add new features. In addition, these steps make it easier for users to get used to new changes because small steps are always taken.
As-a-service is broader than just Windows, the same method is applied to System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM) and will also be applied to other Microsoft services over time.
