I have made an overview showing the average installation time of an in place upgrade from a certain Windows 10 version to another version.
An in place upgrade means that you update a certain Windows 10 version to a newer version (build) and the user’s files/settings are included. Windows itself cannot be used during the installation process. The user will then see an installation screen.
The average installation time of an in place upgrade with Windows 10:
Current Windows version | New Windows version | Upgrade time in minutes (average) |
---|---|---|
1511 | 1607 | 50 |
1607 | 1703 | 75 |
1703 | 1709 | 40 to 50 |
